It amazes me that in this day and age of science, routine space missions and all, that a large number still live under the illusion that Gays choose to be different, to be victims of an unjust society. The religious right continue to refer to us as sinners going against God and his word, but think about it.

Who really would choose to be a target for abuse, second class citizenship, and even physical attacks? Would you?

(San Diego, California) Three gay San Diego men were in hospital Sunday recovering from an attack by at least three men as they left the city’s annual Gay Pride celebration ( see story for more )

Just one more attack in a long growing line of such attacks, that has to make those blind followers of people like Robertson or Falwell cringe. Even a bit don’t you think? I mean if GOD didnt make us this way, do you honestly think we would shout to the world we are gay so people like those 3 in San Diego could become targets?

It really is narrow minded to even suggest that people like us, Gays & Lesbians, deliberately choose to be different with all of the associated risks involved. Not that many are mentally deficient or have a pain fetish.

Society makes these attacks common place too. Rhetoric like it is our choice only leads people to assume we want to defy GOD (as the religious right imply) when the truth is we are HIS CHILDREN TOO. (As the book The Secret tries to show)

You have to ask yourself that, I think before digesting any news story these days, specially when it comes from something like Time Magazine. I mean you would think that when you have a lot more time to research a story you might be able to come up with something original instead of the same old racist bullshit or speculation.

For example Time has done a piece on the Middle East claiming that in fact the war isn’t about Terrorism or anything but about how much the US can or should support Israel. ( see story )

By insisting it is, President Bush clouds the real issues, which are how much the U.S. should do for Israel and what it should do to Iran ( Time Story )

It is amazing at how well the media misleads people instead of simply reporting the NEWS. Instead they want to MAKE the news and really there is a difference.

I suppose though in some sense it makes sense. After all it is cheaper for the USA to have someone else such as Israel do their work for them. They certainly are more capable than the USA at it but still it isn’t going to help end this struggle, if such a thing exists.

For real peace to exist, Israel needs secure borders and as Jean Chretien told the Americans and the world, that won’t happen until we address the issue of the poor in the region. It amazes me how so many ignore this simple fact. Hezbollah and others gain their strength by doing what a legitimate government should be doing.

Hezbollah builds and funds schools, and daycare centres which really the local governments should be doing more of, not less. It worms its way into the very fabric of life for people in that region and so naturally, they garner huge support. The downside though is that with such support they gain legitimacy and so appear to move away from being what they are, Terrorists.

And the media feeds this false perception at every chance it gets. I wonder, what is it about Jews that makes so many hate them? Is it a deep sense of anger due to false perception that God loves them more than his other children or that they think it was Jews who killed Christ when it wasn’t?

I suppose that is part of it, but in all honesty, the media around the world needs to examine its own motives before it attaches ulterior ones to political leaders, even simpletons like George Bush who really isn’t a simpleton. After all he is smart enough to have secured two terms as President and that is no mean feat.

Okay so I chuckled a little this afternoon while watching the pompus Wolf Blitzer on CNN and they have this email question called the Cafferty Report. It is interesting but it was discussing the latest missive from Bin Laden’s group and how they were calling on all Arabs to rush and aid their brothers Hezbollah.

The question was asking if perhaps the Media was placing too much emphasis on these missives and making more out of them than they deserved.

Ya Think?

Gawd, talk about absolute morons. Of course the Media makes more out of the news in most cases than it deserves. I mean the way stations and reporters act, you would think the whole world is going to explode in a second or two, with video at 11 even! Yes, the Media can accept a great deal of blame for some of the absolute bullshit that is going on around us today.

I mean they confuse and speculate so much that who the fuck knows anymore what happened or where even. Listening to them as they report the Middle East news and it is how they use the words that conveys their intent, not the truth, but what they hope you will buy into. No wonder so many are confused, but hey, it is how they make their living I guess.

The downside is though that they also make it hard for reality to set in, or for honest real solutions take hold. One so called expert on CNN (from the USA) claims that Hezbollah wore down Israel and is the only Arab force to have gotten Israel to back down. Like yeah of course the pressure of the United States and the European Union didn’t have anything to do with it. Nor I suppose the now obviously useless promise by those same meddlers to disarm Hezbollah as a part of that Israeli withdrawal, one that now is made out to be a retreat.

How glib and stupid these so called experts are. They aren’t there, nor are they living it. How many of these Middle East experts on the news media for example have even spent any time in that region beyond a day or two? if any days that is.

So seems to me that yep, the media does indeed make more out of things, that is what they do best.
