Watched CNN last night and as usual they have made the war in the Middle East their main reporting. They have Anderson Cooper in Cyprus and several others spread throughout. This includes a reporter who got a special tour by Hezbollah PR hacks of the restricted area in southern Beirut.
So now the Public Relations war begins with the news media willing participants. I mean yes there are lots of bombed buildings being shown, but where is the balance here? Why aren’t they also showing the funeral of the two children killed by the rocket attacks from Hezbollah equally?
It amazes me how quickly the media is shoving aside the actions that precipitated this latest round of warfare. Two Israeli soldiers within Israel were kidnapped by Hezbollah and one by Hamas. These terror groups invaded and so what is the course of action a nation needs to take?
What would happen if say North Korea had sent a squad over to kidnap a US Marine from California? How about if Iran sent some soldiers over to kidnap an AIr Force pilot from Florida? What would be the response of the United States?
Combine all that with the fact that leading up to these kidnappings, selected North Koreans and Iranians entered the United States and detonated bombs in shopping malls. Also they sat across on the Mexican border and fired rockets into the United States cities? Would US Air Force and other forces fire back at the region of Mexico where these attacks were coming from?
Would the United States be willing to accept a ceasefire after only a week’s fighting against these terrorists or would they want to finish the job first?
Ceasefire? No, not until the world accepts that terrorists need to be fought, and not negotiated with. You can’t believe in anything a terrorist agrees to. I mean the United Nations passed a resolution requiring Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah and yet over 750 rockets were fired into Israel just the other day. Palestians are jumping up and down in glee in a show of support for Hezbollah and even elected a terror group to be their government. So ceasefire? I don’t think so, do you?
