I think most everyone recalls George Bush and his speech about the Axis of Evil as it related to the tensions in the Middle East and the so called War on Terror. Yes, so called because frankly I am coming to the opinion that it is more of a War on Islam than a true War on Terror as Bush and his supporters claim. If it truly was a War on Terror would the USA-Mexican border be so porous today? Surely it would have been secured long before now, five years after 9/11? On the other hand, if this is a War on Islam then it would make sense to leave the border open, until such time as Islam is looked upon just like Gays are by Bush and his Klansmen.
For me the true Axis of Evil isn’t Hezbollah, Iran, or even George Bush, but is Intolernace, Racism, and Bigotry. They truly are the tools of Evil and are the Masters of people like George Bush and Stephen Harper and yes, Pope Benedict as well.
Seems the Pope is pretty upset with Canada because we are following a path that is truly of doing what is right, rather than feeding into hatred and racism, which is what the Pope is pushing and his cohorts like Harper. In fact the Pope is doing exactly what a religious leader shouldn’t do, which is to mix into Politics. There should be a separation between Church and State and lately it seems it is rapidly being blurred. Large part of that I think comes from Bush and his attack on Islam. First it was thugs, terrorists, then extremists, which in itself is true and fine, but to add the word Islam before slamming them, that is a neat political way to force people to associate Islam with those evil deeds. Master Racism would be proud of George and Stephen for that one.
With the Pope attacking the rights of individuals and calling it a social trend, Master Intolerance can take a nice bow. To begin with, to deny the medical fact that being gay is not a choice and then calling it merely a social trend is only leading to more intolerance and hatred. It does lead to Gay Bashing and violence, which truly is not something a Pope should be promoting, no matter his views.
If Bush truly wished to wage war on Terror, why does he insist on not sending sufficient troops to get rid of these alleged terrorists in Iraq? If this was a war on Terror, why for so many years has he denied basic civil rights to those held as prisoners taken in that war? It just simply doesn’t make sense and yet each time Bush or his parrot Harper talk about the War on Terror I cringe. It is an excuse that Bush has used effectively for nearly six long years to strip away basic civil rights in the United States, and one that Stephen Harper wishes he could do up here.
When you use your position to assert your narrow views that is contrary to the wishes of the people, or causes harm to them, even a minority number, you are catering to Master Bigotry as well. When you make laws but only allow a select group to benefit from those laws, that is massaging Master Bigotry and not serving GOD or even simple basic Humanity. Bush and Harper deliberately choose to try and create an elite group by selectively applying the law. Fortunately in Canada we have an Opposition that seems determined to not allow that, while in the States the Courts seem to be the only check in place.
This is today’s world and as the fifth anniversary of 9/11 grows closer, I wonder what criteria we use to measure safety? Does it mean we are less likely to be bombed or does it mean that we are less free? In the case of the United States I’d say that Terror has the upper hand. People are less Free now than before and for what? To be able to say that bombings of USA citizens is less? Over 2.600 American Soldiers are dead today because of this attack on another Religion. This isn’t a war on Terror, otherwise Hezbollah wouldn’t be re-arming, Hamas wouldn’t be allowed to be the government of Palestine, and Iran wouldn’t be enriching Uranium to make bombs. Osama would be in some Jail facing trial not airing new videos every few weeks if this truly was a War on Terror and not a War on Islam.
Separation of Church and State? Somehow I don’t think that exists today in the United States and it is creeping up to Canada thanks to the Axis of Evil and its servants, Stephen Harper and George Bush.
