With all the talk about Good vs Evil, have you ever wondered what the ramifications are when Good falters? I mean look at Iraq to see the battlefield that exists there today and how it will all play out should the US withdraw its forces. Think of what messages failure there signals around the globe, including at home in North America.
This is a serious time in world history, as we are finding that it is indeed a small world, and that it isn’t infinite in its ability to support mankind. The recent alarm soundings about the Environment are one notable cause of our inability to do what is right, to do what is Good.
A great deal of this trouble, this insane urge by many to dominate, can be placed at the doorstep of our own inability to let live. For some odd reason we all seem intent on forcing our will on others, and some do it quite well thank you. The old Russian Empire, the Communist Chinese, and the United States have done an admirable job of mixing in where they aren’t wanted. Look at Iran today, a product of the United States Interference by Jimmy Carter. Turn around and look at Afghanistan and the Taliban, a product of Russia, and then North Korea, China’s folly.
This is what happens when good falters. It leads to more grief than it solves or ends. Iraq wasn’t good before the invasion by the USA nor was the entire Middle East, but look at how it has suddenly changed since then. You have war in Lebanon with a moderate government near collapse to a terror group. You have a terror group now in charge in Palestine, and you have Iran rushing forwards to obtain an Islamic Bomb. In Afghanistan you have people afraid of their liberators, and still Osama Ben Laden is out there, plotting and enjoying the turmoil he helped exploit.
Notice, not created, but EXPLOITED.
When the lines blur between good and evil, it is the good who suffer more than not. Frankly when you can no longer tell the Good Guys from the Bad Guys without a program, it is time to stop and look closely into the mirror. People have a core resolve for freedom, so why then do they lash out at those who supposedly are bringing them that freedom? It may have taken 70 years to happen in Russia, but it happened. Yet today they are slowly reverting back to the old ways, and why?
Perhaps the answer lies in how we address the troubles that are plaquing us all. Instead of looking inwards, instead of shouldering our responsibilities as adults, we run around like pre-schoolers blaming everyone else. Maybe, instead of looking heavenwards for divine intervention, we started to use the intelligence he imparted in us to solve these issues, rather than sitting around waiting for a miracle.
With increased violence world wide, isn’t it time to get down to the real principles of Democracy and stop the insane drive towards self destruction? Isn’t it time to put an end to intolerance, to accept what is different and let it pass? If a government can’t support its people, like in Lebanon, then maybe it is time to get one that can. Maybe it is time to accept that in rushing to get a ‘favorable’ government we started thinking about the people that these governments have to govern?
Instead of worrying so much if the Government of the Day is about extermination of a race, we focus on who will provide jobs, food, shelter to the masses. Maybe if we focus less on guns, and more on humanity, then terror tactics like those used by the King of Saudia Arabia and the Taliban won’t be so effective, or so prevelent.
Idealistic, perhaps. But considering the alternative isn’t working, maybe it might worth a try? Maybe it is time to stop the bullshit about worrying what GOD DECREED 2000 Years ago, and started applying the message.
