As I mentioned in an early post, the budget allocation for the District of Columbia was under another VETO threat from the little Dictator in the White House. Seems he is such a prude, that he wants no federal monies to be spent for domestic benefits, unless you are married, meaning a man and woman only. (see Comment ‘More Vetos Against Gays‘)
The Democrats, who pledged to be more in tune with society, have caved in and re-instated the so called ‘long standing‘ covenant. And yet this is the same Party that is courting GLBT votes, by promising a sweeping change to laws, to insure GLBT are given equal treatment under the law. I mean how hypocritical, and galling too.

Sure, they might not have the votes to over ride a Veto, but at least they could try. Then again it does raise the campaign spectre of them trying to con the people that not only do they need to retain control of both houses, but that the President has to be a Democrat as well. I can see the campaign idiots now, saying they need more Democrat Senators, Congressional Members, plus President, to give us all these things. Fact is, their credibility is a bit thin, given how they cave in at the mere hint of a Veto.
Yet when it came to the Grand Compromise on Immigration, (see Comment ‘Tape Their Mouths Shut‘) it was full speed ahead, and Damn the Public. How in the hell is that going to make anyone trust them?
