It amazes me at how cruel some people are. It truly does. I mean given that 50 MILLION Citizens HAVE NO HEALTH INSURANCE, you would think that an institute dedicated to higher learning would not be so callous. Instead of approving health benefits for same sex couples, the Palm Beach Community College will offer ‘Pet Insurance‘ to its employees.
(Palm Beach, Florida) After rejecting a proposal earlier this year to provide health benefits to the same-sex domestic partners of its employees Palm Beach Community College has decided to offer workers insurance for their pets. (source)
Interesting isn’t it? Religious people object to giving health coverage to gays, for some unknown reason, yet applaud the decision to give workers insurance for their pets. Now I am a pet owner, and you know it would be nice to have insurance for our dog. However, if the choice was to get insurance for her, or for David, you can bet your sweet ass I’d get it for David first.
I love my dog, but David is part of me, we have a connection. That is what Being Married is all about. So when a college does something as stupid as refuse health benefits for same sex couples, then turns around and gives it for pets, it is OUTRAGEOUS. It makes appear like Gays are less important than animals, no matter how cute or cuddly.
Kind of makes you wonder a little. Just what is it that this college is teaching it’s students? Hatred? Animal Husbandry? Intolerance? Bigotry? Racism?
How despicable.
