If they had known, they would have disallowed the question. That is the word from CNN about the question asked by Brig. General Kerr on the YouTube debate. Yes, he is on a steering committee for Senator Clinton, but if you watch the replay of the Debate, guess which question is absent? In my books, that is CENSORSHIP.
CNN, which organized the debate said had it known Kerr was connected to Clinton it would not have allowed the question. The issue was subsequently removed from the debate when the program was re-aired on the network. (source)
While I do believe that it would appear like it was a planted issue, the question could and should still have been asked. It was, to remove it, is to simply try and deny the full debate to the people. A disclaimer surely would suffice, but to remove it is out and out CENSORSHIP. And it is NOT THE MEDIAS JOB TO DECIDE WHAT WE SHOULD SEE OR NOT.
If they had done their homework, had researched the questions prior, maybe they could have avoided the issue, or found someone else to ask the question. It is not a trivial question, and yet CNN has decided to NOT SHOW IT IN REPLAYS.
That is absolute HYPOCRISY. In addition, it is in violation of what the role of the Media is, which is to INFORM, not to CENSOR.
