You have to feel good, when you hear news about some hot hollywood actor/actress that publicly winds up supporting Same Sex Marriage. I know, it’s old news up in Canada, but it seems the battle for equality is heating up in the United States, so this kind of stuff is all, well, hopeful.
We have all heard about Brad Pitt’s statement, regarding same sex marriage, now ‘the Boss’ has come out, in support as well. Kind of nice to see, but you know what really begs the question, is why aren’t the political leaders jumping on the bandwagon? The Republican Leadership Hopefulls are all out there, slamming Homosexuals, voicing how evil we all are, and their Democratic Counterparts are busy playing word games.
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — “The Boss” is backing gay marriage in the Garden State. Bruce Springsteen posted a statement on his Web site urging support of the gay marriage bill that’s up for a vote in New Jersey’s Senate on Thursday. ( source )
An interesting comparison is that both Jean Chretien, and Paul Martin are Roman Catholics, and both have stated they didn’t see same sex marriage as being right, in a spiritual context, but yet are the one’s who implemented the law, because they believed all people, are entitled to the same civil rights. THAT IS REAL LEADERSHIP.
Makes you wonder about people like Hilary Clinton and even Barack Obama, who claim to support Gay Rights, yet are so silent when it comes to actually doing something about it. Such as the repeal of the Clinton Administration law of DADT or the Bush Administration DOMA.
Guess they just want our money, and our votes, without having to actually put themselves at risk, AT DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.
