Well the big debate is over, and what a yawner, or so some say. There were sparks, but did anyone give any answers? Mitt Romney would like DADT to be left up to the Military, the others like John McCain believe DADT is okay, because after all, unit cohesiveness is what counts. Fact that is the same argument the white supremacists used in trying to block integration of African Americans into the Armed Forces doesn’t matter. Can’t let them queers in, now can we?

CNN host Anderson Cooper put the question to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, reminding him that when he ran for the Senate against Ted Kennedy he said that he “longed for the day” when gays could serve openly in the military.

The question was asked by a Brig General, who it turns out is on the Clinton Campaign somehow. Now, here we go, an important question is made inconsequential because of Clinton dirty tricks. It is unreal. It was perhaps one of the best questions, well pressed, yet now is tarnished because the man works for Senator Clinton.

Are politicians really this stupid? Maybe the real litmus test shouldn’t be how well they lie, how much they take in graft, but at how much common sense they have, before letting them loose on the public?

The FBI has released its figures and Hate Crimes are on the rise. About 8% according to the stats, and yet the addition of sexual orientation to the Federal Law remains in the Senate, with a Presidential Veto threatened. Yet HATE is on the rise, and according to the FBI, attacks on Homosexuals or on ‘sexual orientation‘ accounts for about 15% of the total.

Also in 2006, religious prejudice was blamed for 18.9 percent of the incidents; sexual orientation prejudice for 15.5 percent; and ethnic or national origin for 12.7 percent. (source)

I suppose that Herr Bush’s reply would be that as we are ‘immoral‘ it doesn’t matter. Or maybe he thinks that the fact that it is only 15% isn’t enough to warrant protection from Hate or Discrimination. After all, this is the man who claims ‘water boarding‘ is not only legal, but safe. (see Gay Talk comment ‘Ends Justify the Means?‘)

And what does Mr Hutcherson say about that? Like Phelps, that it is God’s Retribution?

Before Larry Craig there was Bob Allen from Florida, who has been found guilty of soliciting sex in a public bathroom. A staunch Republican who not only opposed all aspects of Gay Rights, but who actively sought to limit those rights.

What I find odd, both in this case, the Senator Craig incident, and others, is how these seeming Homophobics defend themselves. I mean to claim he was attempting to find a way out of the place due to feeling threatened, is just ludicrous. Yet this man spent his public career attempting to degrade and deny Gay’s their fundamental rights. Now he claims he was just trying to get away from blacks?

You know, I can understand a person who has a desire to be with the same sex, hiding it. I mean given how Racist Society is, how much Hate there is for Homosexuals, it is understandable to want to hide that fact. What I don’t get, is how can you turn on your own like Bob Allen did? I mean he did his best to lead the fight against Gay Rights, to the point where he even tried to deny protection of gay kids from bullying.

In the last session of the Florida legislature he sponsored a failed bill that would have tightened the state’s prohibition on public sex. He also has been a supporter of amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage and has opposed a bill to curb bullying of gay students. (source)
