When did they forget what being a conservative means?

Seriously, take a look at the recent crop of so called Conservative Leaders in the world, like George Bush of the States, Frank Howard of Australia, Tony Blair of the UK, Stephen Harper of Canada, Pope Benedict of the Vatican. When did they forget what it really meant to be a conservative?

From gay bashing, to policies that destroy people’s lives, these political wunderkin seem to have vaulted to the top of their profession, by tearing down, by isolating people, and by sheer bullying. I simply do not understand, how people can find any reason to support them, now or then, and yet they managed to stay in power for what seems like eons.

Harper in Canada is popular, by a minority, which is puzzling, because the man hasn’t kept a single important campaign promise since his first election. George Bush still has support of many, despite his record. I mean the guy invaded a country based on lies, yet no one even thought of impeaching him?

Howard got defeated, and Blair put out to pasture, yet some of his stalwarts remain, like the Cutlure Minister who wants to protect children by labelling the internet websites like they do films. Course it only applies to English Language sites, which really makes no sense, because a naked dick in any language, is still naked.

A decade or so ago, if you listened to a young Mormon politician named Mitt Romney you would never assume that he was a frothing anti abortionist, nor that he was a staunch neo conservative. And yet today that is exactly what Mitt Romney IS, and keeps on trying to PROVE THAT HE IS, even though some are seeing through his hypocrisy. (see Gay Talk)

All in the name of getting elected.

From Hilary Clinton to Ron Paul, they all talk about their CORE BELIEFS and how they have worked for so long in support of those basic beliefs. Even Mitt Romney tries that gambit, and yet if you look at the past of them all, you find how different their stands were just a short time back.

Hilary Rodham Clinton on Health Care, where her and hubby came up with today’s HMO System. Yet back then she opposed any form of National Health, now she wants to mandate that it become LAW that everyone MUST HAVE HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. Doesn’t say how you are supposed to pay for it, but that sure is a switch from when she was First Lady.

Then over on the other side, you have Mitt Romney. This is the guy who promised Gay’s he would be their voice in Washington, to secure them EQUAL RIGHTS, and now today he goes to court to DENY GAYS THOSE VERY RIGHTS. He stands PROUDLY IN DEFENSE OF HIS ANTI GAY STAND.

You would think that these two, at least, would not be in the running, and yet here we are, about to start the tortured process of Primary Voting, and they are the front runners for their Political Parties. Makes you wonder, is it really what people want, or is it the money they are spending to fool everyone?
