If It Was Straight Porn
You have to wonder about the Media, and about Society as well. I mean there are two guys charged with multiple break in crimes, that happen to be identical twins. Now that alone, I suppose is worth a quick blurb on the news, right?
Add into it that they both do porn, that too would maybe make a case for a blurb?
Now add that the porn they did, was Gay, and WHAM, you have an article, with perhaps movie rights? I mean what is it about the Media, and Gay Porn? Do they have a yen for it, or is it really merely an opportunity for them to bash gays and porn at the same time. I mean would it be a whole article on Fox, if the two were girls, and did Playboy Television?
Somehow it might make some headline news, but sure not an entire discussion on their ‘criminal‘ history. Nor would it go into such detail, least I don’t feel it would.
The brothers have appeared in online gay porn videos under the names Teyon and Keyon, said Erik Schut of Philadelphia-based video retailer TLA Entertainment Group, which sells gay porn DVDs online. (source)
Granted, the article doesn’t really go much into their Porn Life, and it doesn’t dominate the article. Though the tone of the article, sort of implies that somehow their porn life, has something to do with their criminal activities. Being Gay seems to also be an undercurrent, but then Fox News is famous for that.
Yet, I wonder, what is it about any media outlet, that gets away with this shit? I mean why do we, as a society, feel that the press or news, has to qualify its reporting by making reference to a persons race, religion, color, or orientation? Does it really matter? Sure if you are looking for someone, that information is of importance, and relevance. But is it under other circumstances, or it merely their way and ours, of fostering our conceptions of race, color, religion, and orientation?
